    I have observed that in cameras, specialized detectors help to {focus|concentrate|maintain focus|target|a**** automatically. Those kind of sensors with some cameras change in in the area of contrast, while others employ a beam involving infra-red (IR) light, specially in low lighting. Higher spec cameras at times use a mix of both models and may have Face Priority AF where the video camera can 'See' the face as you concentrate only on that.
